The connection between surfing and Itacaré runs deep. Set amidst the Atlantic rain forest, an abundance of juicy, warm-water beach breaks, reef breaks, and an amazingly long right-hander rivermouth. First discovered by the first surfers in the 70s’, the region has been on the traveling surfer’s map since then!
Located in the center of Itacaré, opposite the waterfront, where the fishermen dock their boats and the River Rio De Contas flows into the ocean, this exclusive hotel provides a unique involvement combining comfort and a great surf experience!
The Resort

Opened in 2013, the Vila Barracuda was created by a group of Swedish and Brazilian friends willing to offer a homey feel to their guests through a hotel that reflects the main values of the group: a deep respect for the town and its culture, a passion for nature and the environment and a spontaneous lifestyle offered to those who like it to experience luxury through contrasts.

Waves at Vila Barracuda
Year-round surfing and warm waters are the highlights of Itacaré. The shoulder months of September to December and March to June are the best months to surfing in this region, with medium size waves with lots of perfection, light offshore winds, and low crowds! The summer (December to March) is characterized by small waves with offshore winds in the morning. Winter, June to September, see bigger waves and constant wind swells, giving a good shape and power to the beach breaks.
The most famous spot of Itacaré is Boca da Barra, a super-long, fun righthander that peels across a sandbank at the mouth of the River Contas. Across the river are 6km of exposed, deserted beach breaks on fine sand backed by coconut trees. Many of these spots are only surfed by a few surfers because of their remote location and limited access. Surf Lessons and Surf Trips to the nearby breaks can be organised at the hotel.

Vila Baracuda Boutique Hotel has 8 tastefully designed suites and represents the vision of a group of Swedish and Brazilian friends to create an exclusive hotel with a homey feel.
All suites have Air Conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-fridge, cable TV, exclusive handmade bathroom amenities and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The decor includes furniture designed by Brazilians incorporating Swedish style and built by local craftsmen. If you are looking for an authentic Bahina experience, then Vila Baracuda is your home.

Master Suite River & Oceanfront
70 sqm. This special and spacious suite located on the upper floor has one of the most beautiful and picturesque views of Itacaré. If you are travelling with your family, this is the only accommodation which can be connected to the adjoining suite. Queen Size Bed.
Superior Suite City View
50 sqm. Located on the upper floor the spacious Superior Suite has a balcony overlooking the city and a sofa bed to accommodate a third person. Queen Size Bed.
Junior Suite Balcony & Hammock
40 sqm. Located on the ground floor, the Junior Suite is very airy and pleasant. It has a cozy hammock on a lovely private balcony. Queen Size Bed or 2 single beds.
Standard Suite
35 sqm. Located inside the House this suite is the most compact in the Hotel. It’s thoughtfully equipped and decorated with the same care and design as the other suites. Queen Size Bed or 2 single beds.

At Vila Barracuda luxury meets the fisherman, the small farmer, and follows the preparation of each dish. All recipes are inspired by the local culture and fresh ingredients found in the daily life of Itacaré.
