Waves at Surf Lodge South Africa
Halfway between Durban and Cape Town is one of South Africa’s best and most consistent surf zones, St. Francis Bay. The frequent winter SW swells turn on dozens of classic pointbreaks with Jeffreys Bay (J-Bay) being the most renowned wave and considered one of the best right-handers in the world.
March to September is the best time to surf in this area with light NW winds blowing offshore in the morning and turning SW in the afternoon.
From Nov to February, the wind changes direction and blows primarily from the E.
Surf Lodge South Africa in Jeffreys Bay offers a variety of courses. From beginner surf lessons to advanced coaching and surf guiding for the already experienced surfers!
Accommodation
Located on Paradise Beach, Surf Lodge South Africa has a variety of rooms ranging from luxury seven-person dorms all the way up to the idyllic honeymoon suite.
The double/twin rooms are bright, inviting rooms with either a shared or private bathroom, that lead to an ample, shared balcony. The Poolside Apartment is a stylish self-catering flat that opens to our lush pool area.
With glorious sea views out of every window and luxury beds, the dormitory is not your standard backpacker’s dorm. The room is fitted with seven comfortable single beds and features a private bathroom and kitchen.
The honeymoon suite is the most luxurious of our rooms and the ideal couples’ getaway with a sea-facing, private balcony and a private bathroom fitted with a luxurious tub.
The Cuisine
Start your day with a healthy and varied breakfast served at Surf Lodge South Africa!
All packages include also a BBQ night at the lodge and a Coffee voucher at the nearby Salted Surf Café.
Some of the rooms come with a private kitchenette for the ones willing to prepare their own meals.
