Naga Laut

Originally launched in 1999, The Naga Laut has been designed exclusively for upmarket surf charters in the Mentawai Islands and the boat has been continually upgraded to ensure a comfortable and unique experience to its surfer guests.

Naga Laut can hold up to 13 surfers but sails most comfortably with 8 to 10.

Naga Laut has two tenders, a 5.5m Stacer aluminum speedboat with a Yamaha 85 hp to get you quickly and comfortably to the line-up, and a smaller zodiac with a 15hp. Both are always on standby to quickly get you to the waves, do shore excursions or go fishing.

The Mentawais are like no other island chain in the world. With such a high concentration of world-class waves and incredible consistency, the area has been drawing traveling surfers since the 1980’s when the first pioneers discovered this treasure trove of perfection.

From perfect peeling points, to heavy slabbing barrels, high-performance air waves and chilled longboard spots, the Mentawai Islands has something to offer everyone! The peak months of May – September offer regular larger surf, with the months either side offering consistent perfect with lower crowds!

It is a right of passage for every surfer to experience Mentawai perfect at least once and the Naga Laut is a great option to experience this in comfort and style!

Naga Laut can accommodate up to 12 persons in comfort, with 4 comfortable two-bed cabins, and 1 big four-bed cabin, all with multiple power sockets to keep your laptops, phones and cameras charged, safe, and out of the way.

The charter has 2 shared toilets/bathrooms and an outdoor shower.

A spacious living area onboard provides all the amenities of home including full air conditioning, a new satellite phone, TV, DVD, VCD, WIFI, fridge, freezer, fishing and snorkeling gear.

The owners of Naga Laut have been surfing the Mentawais for decades and know the only thing more important than the waves, is the food being served.

The charter includes daily 2 breakfasts, lunch and dinner, plenty of in-between snacks, including fresh fruit and chocolate bars, drinking water, hot tea and coffee, 40 beers per person and unlimited soft drink and juice.

Expect a wide range of well-prepared and hearty meals healthy, based on a mix of Western, Indonesian and Chinese cuisine.. The charter can also prepurchase alcohol for you at local prices, just let us know what you require!
