The Resort

Sitting on a stunning island, fringed with quality waves, you will stay in one of the five cosy rooms of the lodge, made with locally sourced materials and decored with traditional Mentawai style. Driftwood offers a Satellite Wifi connection, strong enough for downloading, videochats, and streaming, meaning you can keep in touch whilst you’re away. Rare in this part of the world.
Waves at Driftwood Mentawai
Driftwood Mentawai sits in the ‘Playgrounds’ region in Northern Mentawai. This area has a high concentration of waves for all levels at all times of the year! Steep & hollow barrels, rippable walls, fun-sized waves, there is something for everyone to get stoked on. The Peak season of May -October brings the largest swells, favouring the advanced to expert surfers, with the rest of the year serving up consistent head-high to overhead surf!
Driftwood Mentawai is located in one of the best spots in the region, with the world-class left-hander of Ebay right at its doorstep and the super fun right-hander of Pitstops just around the corner. The island of Nyang-Nyang provides 5 spots within walking distance from the lodge and about 20 more waves within less than a 30-minute boat ride away.
Accommodation
Driftwood Mentawai offers beachfront accommodation which combines western comfort with traditional local craftsmanship.
The lodge has a total of 5 bedrooms, all on the beachfront with a direct sea view, with a maximum capacity of 12 guests. You’ll wake up and go to bed to the sound of the ocean.
The main lodge has two downstair rooms equipped with king-size beds and an extra XL bed that can be converted to a couch. There is also an extra spacious upstairs bedroom with king-size bed. The two brand-new bungalows rise at the water’s edge. Here you can spot 3 different waves from the bedroom window!
All rooms come with luxury cotton mosquito nets, high-end comfort mattresses, personal fans and power sockets. The bathrooms are shared and are fitted with toilets & showers. An extra outdoor shower is available.
The Cuisine
Driftwood’s cooks will provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks and will make sure to keep your belly full so you’ll have plenty of energy to surf! The lodge serves a combination of Western and Indonesian cuisine, using all the fresh locally grown ingredients available.
Coffee, tea, drinking water & an unlimited supply of coconuts are available for free at any time. Daily snacks & fresh fruit are available in the lodge and on boat trips.
The bar stocks plenty of ice-cold Bintangs and a variety of sodas available at extra charge.

Yoga
The raised platform of Driftwood, overlooking the home break, is the perfect yoga spot. Yoga equipment is available free to use available at the lodge.
During the peak season, there is a yoga teacher on-site offering free yoga classes.
Getting there
After arriving in Padang, you would have to spend your first night in a hotel and catch Mentawai Fast Ferry the next morning. The ferry departs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and takes around 4-hours to get to Siberut, where Driftwood staff will pick you up to bring you to the resort. Alternatively, for larger groups, private speed boat transfers are available to the resort!
