The Resort
The resort is located just a short 40-minute flight from the international airport in Malé in the unspoilt Central Atolls. Niyama Private Islands is situated over 2 islands, Play and Chill, connected by a small bridge, allowing you to have the space to roam and explore.
The jewel in the crown of Niyama Private Islands is the private, onsite wave, Vodi. This well-shaped left-hand reef break is located on the southern tip of the resort allowing you to jump in and surf whenever you feel! No waiting around for boats, just surfing on your schedule.
Waves at Niyama Private Islands
You’re spoilt for choice with the wave options at Niyama. Sitting on the southern tip of the resort is Vodi. Vodi breaks left over a well covered even reef giving fun, playful rides when smaller and fast, technical rides when the swell gets bigger! This can be surfed at anytime and is a great fun wave.
In the local area, there are a few more great waves, Kasabu and Hocus Pocus that can be reached with the onsite surf transfers. Kasabu is a playful right-hander, perfect for perfecting your turns. When the conditions are right, Hocus Pocus is a barreling right-hander that offers perfectly shaped barrels for the lucky few that get to surf it!
With the help of the expert surf team onsite, you may also get to surf a few other secrets in the area in the right conditions!
The Villas

Each villa has a secluded deck that offers complete privacy and allows for full rest and relaxation away from the surf.
